The importance of accessibilty PDF Print E-mail

Web accessibility is about making your website accessible to all Internet users (both disabled and non-disabled), regardless of what browsing technology they're using. In addition to complying with the law, an accessible website can reap huge benefits on to your website and your business.

Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and web accessibility

European Union websites must be accessible to all, including the 37 million European citizens with a disability.

What happens if your website does not comply?

A disabled person can make a claim against you if your website makes it impossible or unreasonably difficult to access information and services. If you have not made reasonable adjustments and cannot show that this failure is justified, then you may be liable under the Act, and may have to pay compensation and be ordered by a court to change your site.

When we design your website you can be confident that all of our coding is compliant with WAI standards, thereby ensuring that your site is accessible. In addition we also provide a Text Only version of your site free of charge.
